Mark Hornsby and I have got the gang together to do a small performance of THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY in Nashville at a small club called THE BASEMENT. We will not be doing the whole record but a big chunk of it. We have not had a chance to get together and celebrate the release of this CD since it was put out in November so this evening should have great energy and music all around. If you are anywhere in the area please come on out and see the show. It will be a lot of fun.

Hi Guys!
Just a little update to let you know we're still alive and kickin'.
We've been writing some cool songs for the next CD over the past year and they are coming along very nicely. We normally write on our own and then bring almost-finished songs to the table right before rehearsals start for the recording sessions, but last week actually got together as a band and worked on some ideas as a unit. John and Stan were also in attendance.
Besides being fun, we developed a few things that will most likely turn into a couple really nice tracks.
No definite plans for a recording date yet, but we're definitely gaining momentum and headed in that direction.
Ryo still has those plates in his jaw. Still a lot of discomfort, but he's doing a lot better.
I've been reading some of the forum posts, and you guys have been coming up with some really cool ideas. I personally liked Thoreauvian Step's idea where we'd make the next CD available as both a download for either free or a "pay what you like" price, and then offer a really nice hard copy with a big fat booklet and possibly some other stuff that would entice people to pay more for the actual physical CD.
It makes a lot of sense to me, but I don't know a record company on earth that would go along with that idea, so I'm sure independent financing would be required for that. But it's definitely a cool thing to think about.
Spock's Beard wishes to thank you all for your thoughts, kind words and prayers in supporting Ryo in his recovery. This has been a most difficult time for him and has seriously impacted his ability to make a living.
His biggest concern right now is paying for hospital treatment, which was very expensive and is still in progress.
We are appealing to all Spock's Beard fans far and wide to send Ryo even a few dollars if you can possibly spare it.
If you would like to contribute to Ryo's recovery fund, please make a donation to the following PayPal account:
Sincerely yours,
Spock's Beard

Spock's LIVE radio interview on August 22
We are doing a live radio interview on the morning of Friday, August 22 on WDVE in Pittsburgh. It will be during their morning "Coffee House" show and we'll be on the air at approximately 8:30a Eastern time. It will also be streaming live on their website www.dve.com. (Go to their website and click on "Listen Live").
We will all be there being as entertaining as we can possibly be considering it will be way too early for our Pacific Time bodies. In addition to our witty banter they will be spinning some of our music as well.

RYO IS BACK ON THE TEAM ROSTER!
Hi everybody, sorry for all the excitement, but Ryo is going to be recovered enough to play the Three Rivers Prog Festival on August 23.
His doctors are un-wiring his jaw on Aug 19 and they gave him the go-ahead to travel and play the gig. Hey, nothing like a little drama to spice things up, eh? It's been a few pretty wild days . . .
He'll still be pretty sore and the pins will still be in his jawbone for six months but he will be able to resume most normal daily activities on the 19th.
So. .. good news!

RYO ON THE INJURED LIST
Ryo suffered some sort of mishap in Japan a couple days ago and wound up with his jaw broken in two places. It's a pretty gnarly injury (I've seen the CT Scan) and he will be laid up for close to a month with his jaw wired shut.
Needless to say, he will have to miss the Three Rivers Prog Festival on August 23. The show will still go on as planned, and we have already found a very competent substitute for the keyboard position. He is already working on the songs and programming sounds like a maniac, and we are sure that he'll do a killer job.
Don't worry about the show, it's full speed ahead and I'm confident that the only thing that will be noticeably missing from our sound will be the occasional profanity laced joke between songs. ;-)
If you'd like to send Ryo some nice thoughts I'm sure he'd love to hear from you. You can post a message on our forum of course, and you can also send emails and get-well cards to Ryo via Sonya (Spock's Babe). She has posted all the pertinent information on the Forum topic "Ryo In The Hospital"
We are also planning to set up something to help him out financially since he won't be able to work at all for the next month or so. We'll keep you posted on that.
Thanks for your support and positive thoughts!
